MD Approve dat Loan!
Despite the question quality and the occasional factual error, MD entered
the playoffs undefeated, and only suffered one loss to Cornell. We won the
second game in the best two-out-of-three, but lost the third match on a
classics-heavy packet including the now-infamous Appian Way question.

Maryland A
Maryland A finished as the top of their bracket, and lost to Harvard B
in the semifinals on a protest. Bad moderators, poor questions -- all
in all, a typical Penn Bowl. One highlight is a feat that has
probably never been achieved before. In a game against South Carolina
B, our opponents were not there, so we were playing against empty
chairs. Despite this fact, Dave Goodman managed to neg on the first
question, thus making us the first team to ever be losing to nonexistent
opponents. Not yet fully satisfied, both Daves and Willie combined for
4 more negs, thus negging on 1/4 of the questions in the round.

Maryland B
The B team got off to a good start, losing only a close one to GW
on the first night. After the first game Saturday, they were 6-1 and tied
for first place. However, the Penn Bowl question gods caught up with
them, and they lost five games down the stretch, including three on the
last toss-up, to finish at 9-6, eighth in the Grey Bracket.
